Addison is trained in individual, couple, and family therapy. She believes in a dynamic approach to psychotherapy, and she is dedicated to understanding each person in their entirety.
Through working with Addison, clients will be encouraged to gently investigate their relationships, family dynamics, and their subconscious. In doing so, Addison hopes that clients will make connections from their past to their present and be able to break patterns and dynamics that no longer suit them.
Addison enjoys helping others understand themselves and their interpersonal dynamics. She is trained in helping individuals deal with anxiety, depression, stress, marital issues, self-esteem, grief, body image, relationship problems, break ups, divorce, family discord, and communication issues. Addison also has experience treating mood and personality disorders. She is passionate about working with families and couples, and she maintains an interpersonal perspective whether working with individuals, families, or couples.
While Addison adheres to a postmodern approach to psychotherapy, she believes that each person is incredibly unique, thus their therapy should be tailored to fit their needs, desires, and personality. Addison pulls from a Systems perspective, and uses elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Logotherapy, and the philosophical teachings of Stoicism.
Addison has been a teacher abroad and within the United States, and she remains an active part of the education community currently working as a professor.
In her spare time, she enjoys staying active, spending time with loved ones, studying history, and playing with her adorable golden retriever.
